Born and raised in Portsmouth England, my first taste of electronic music was during my breakdance days, popping and locking to the Electro, Crew Cuts and Street Sounds compilations.

Chris Pearson, a good friend of mine back then was a Hip-Hop DJ with an interest in production. He was a good enough DJ to make it to the end of the regional heats of the legendary DMC Technics World Mixing Championships.

At this point I had no interest in Djing - mostly because I couldn't afford decks.

Through the 80's and 90's Chris opened my eyes to all types of studio equipment, introducing me to the Atari 1040ST and Cubase. I recall Cubase needed just 1meg to run back then!

So if I'm honest, the reason I got into DJing and making tracks is down to Chris.

It was the Acid House years, and after going to raves and festivals around the South Coast and London, I found I liked the music but wasn't really that passionate about it. While working in a dead end job I became friends with Triston Robinson. He was having a similar experience. All too often finding himself in the infamous Sterns wondering what the hell he was listening to. He, like me was ready to hear something different.

Chasing a lost cause of a Friday night at the end of 1990, we ended up in the Escape Club, Brighton. The heady atmosphere, intoxicants and hearing tunes like Rhythm Is A Mystery and I’ll Be Your Friend was an inspiration. It’s a cliché I know, but that night, House music changed my life.

Talking to a couple of people in the club, we were informed of Coco Club at the Zap on Saturday nights. Inspired (and a little hungover!) we decided to try it the following week, eager to repeat the Escape experience. We weren’t disappointed. From then on we became two of the many who would religiously come from all over to hear some legendary sets by the resident DJ, Chris Coco, along with some other great US and UK guest DJ's like DJ Pierre and Roger Sanchez. The music was hypnotic, funky and emotive. This was real House Music

Around this time I could finally afford some Technics 1210's, and with Triston, built a vast collection of house music that both of us would mix up with decks and later, effects, during some marathon weekend sessions. Our neighbours loved us!

Triston has a great ear for music and loves to mess with audio loops of all kinds, albeit with limited resources. I’ve seen him make mash up tracks on a twin tape deck in the past and the results were wild (and a little dangerous) to say the least!

I progressed from decks to studio equipment, built a studio and started producing tracks. Triston and I got together and collaborating under the name Warm Air, made hundreds of tracks for our own pleasure. I keep meaning to re-master all the tracks we did and for the 7 Dayz label as as I believe they are masterpieces in their own right!

My influences are Todd Terry, Masters at Work, Eric Kupper, Angel Moraes, Dave Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Satoshi Tomiie and the late, great Roger ‘Wildchild’ McKenzie to name a few.

I attended a music tech diploma course back in 1998 and have kept my hand in since. Any spare moment I can be found in my studio, preparing the radio show or making tracks for my digital label 7dayz on junodownloads.com. If they sell, great, if not, I don't mind as I just enjoy making them
